In 2013, my grandfather's vintage radio rekindled an unexpected flame within me. A family treasure, imbued with the soul of a bygone era, yet desperately silent. There was no way to listen to my playlists, my stations or my podcasts on it. This radio was a piece of our history. And it had fallen silent.
My father and I set ourselves a challenge: to give it back its voice. This challenge was a promise made to my grandfather's memory. We worked with a watchmaker's care to preserve every detail of its period appearance, every worn button.
Beneath the period wood, we breathed new life: invisible Bluetooth integration, a powerful Focal® speaker and modern, discreet connectivity.
The day the first sound came out of the radio, I understood that we had not modernised a device: we had given its voice back to our family history.
