You've inherited an old radio set. Your grandparents', or the one your father used to listen to on Sunday mornings with his coffee. It's sitting there somewhere between two boxes, in a garage or at the back of a cupboard.

You can't bring yourself to throw it away. Understandably. These radios have a story - yours, your family's. They were made in an era when things were built to last. Solid wood, bakelite, original acoustic fabric. Nothing like the plastic we're sold today.

The problem, you know it well: the set no longer picks up anything. FM is dying out, long wave has been silent for years. So the radio just sits there. Silent. Gathering dust.

You could list it on a second-hand site. But at what price? And for whom? Most buyers want a decorative piece they'll put on a shelf and never switch on.

There's a better way.
