The history of modernizing vintage radios at A.bsolument didn't happen alone. It's based on heritage, transmission, and a strong bond between a father and son.
It all started with an old radio… and a revelation
Before A.bsolument, there was a radio. Not just any radio: Arthur Verne 's grandfather's. A wooden object weathered by time, witness to a time when listening to the radio and music was shared as a family!
One day, this radio fell silent. It had survived the years, passed from generation to generation, always finding its place in the family. From grandfather to father, then from father to son, it had accompanied moments of life, broadcasting voices and melodies from another era. When it arrived in Arthur's hands, he immediately adored it. Its vintage design, its history, its timeless charm... everything fascinated him. But there was a problem: he listened to his music on his phone. It was impossible to plug in or connect a phone. This radio, as beautiful as it was, no longer suited today's uses. So, rather than let it gather dust, an idea began to germinate...
With patience and ingenuity, Arthur and his father Pierre Verne undertook to bring it back to life.
And that's where the idea for A.bsolument was born.
When passion becomes a profession
Arthur Verne founded A.bsolument to modernize vintage radios . And for 10 years now, the machine has been running!
Pierre Verne didn't just join the company to support it. He took part in the adventure by bringing his expertise and passion for modernizing vintage radios. In his workshop, between screwdrivers, circuits, and vintage cases, he brings legendary car radios and boomboxes back to life! Each part is disassembled, inspected, and repaired with almost obsessive care.
In 10 years, more than 500 radios have passed through his expert hands.
If you decide to take the plunge, the car radio from your classic car or the boombox radio from your youth will pass into his hands.

Radios charged with emotion
Absolutely, it's not just a modernization workshop. It's a bridge between past and present . Some customers entrust us with their parents' or grandparents' radios, often with a touching anecdote:
“My father always listened to his vinyl records on it, I couldn’t part with it.”
"This radio belonged to my grandfather, he used to play us stories before going to sleep."
“She was in our living room when I was a child… I want her to continue living in my home.”
So, rediscovering these modernized objects is often a powerful moment. Some plug it in for the first time and are speechless. Others smile when they hear the first notes coming out of these vintage boxes. Because, ultimately, it's not just a question of sound. It's a question of transmission.
More than a business, a story of transmission
Even today, father and son work side by side, with the same high standards and the same passion.
At A.bsolument, modernizing a radio isn't just about adding Bluetooth or swapping out components. It's an act of remembrance, a respectful gesture that allows these objects of yesterday to continue to live on tomorrow.
And finally, what could be more beautiful than good sound passed down from generation to generation?
