WHAT VIBRATES TOO MUCH you remove from the sound
When the speaker plays, it also sends a wave backwards, inside the cabinet. In an old set, that wave bounces off the wood, makes the panels vibrate and muddies what you hear.
Focal's B.A.M combines a honeycomb foam that absorbs this rear wave, an aluminium sheet that stiffens, and a butyl layer that damps the wood's vibrations. Our craftsmen cut and fit it to measure, inside: nothing changes outside, everything changes when you listen.

With the rear wave absorbed, the bass gains weight and clarity.
Less distortion
The panels no longer vibrate along with the music: the sound stays clear, even loud.
Invisible from outside

Is it visible once fitted?
No. The insulation goes inside the cabinet. From the outside, your radio stays exactly the same.
Can it be combined with the Flax speaker?
Yes, and it is the ideal duo: the Flax upgrades the source of the sound, the B.A.M treats the acoustics of the cabinet around it.
What difference will I hear?
Better grounded bass, clearer mids, and a set that no longer buzzes at high volume. The bigger the cabinet, the more you hear the difference.
